1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run your marketing on the platform:
Account information
Your name and email address, handled through our authentication provider when you sign up or log in.
Business profile
Details you give us during onboarding: your business type, what you sell, your goals and budget, and the brand-voice samples you upload so the AI can learn how you write.
Connected-platform data
When you connect an account, we access data through that platform's official API, limited to what the service needs. In our current release this means read-only advertising performance data from Meta Ads (campaigns, ad sets, ads, and their metrics) and audience and engagement metrics from Klaviyo or Mailchimp. We do not collect or store the personal data of your own end-customers; where analytics require it, we work with aggregated and anonymised figures.
Technical and usage data
Standard logs and error reports (for example, timestamps, error traces, and limited device/browser information) that help us keep the service reliable and secure.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the service: generate marketing content, surface recommendations, and produce your weekly report.
- To learn and apply your brand voice across the content we generate.
- To operate, secure, debug, and improve the platform.
- To handle billing and send you service-related messages.
- To provide support and respond to your requests.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your business data to train third-party foundation models.
3. AI processing
Apheles uses Anthropic's Claude API to generate marketing content and written recommendations. We pass the AI the real metrics from your connected accounts plus your brand-voice profile; the AI generates language around those numbers. The AI never invents figures, and nothing it produces goes live without your review and approval.
4. Service providers (subprocessors)
We share data with a small set of vendors strictly to run the service. Each processes data only on our instructions:
- Meta, Klaviyo, Mailchimp — the marketing platforms you connect, accessed via their official APIs.
- Anthropic — AI processing for content and recommendations.
- Amazon Web Services — application hosting and storage.
- Stripe — subscription billing and payments.
- Auth0 — authentication and login.
- Resend — transactional and report emails.
- Sentry — error monitoring.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
5. Connected accounts & OAuth
You connect platforms through their secure OAuth flow; we never see or store your passwords for those services. We request the minimum permissions needed (for example, read-only access to ad performance). You can revoke our access at any time from the connected platform's settings, or by deleting your Apheles account.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your data as described below, except where we must retain certain records (for example, billing records) to meet legal obligations.
7. Deleting your data
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. See our Data Deletion page for exactly what is removed and how to request it.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, email us at kiran@apheles.com and we will respond within the time required by applicable law.
9. International transfers
We and our service providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where we transfer personal data across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) as required by applicable law.
10. Cookies & tracking
This marketing website does not set advertising or analytics cookies. If we add product analytics inside the application, we will describe them here and provide any required controls.
11. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, encrypted storage of access tokens, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you of incidents where required.
12. Children's privacy
Apheles is a business tool and is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will revise the date above and, for material changes, notify you through the service or by email.
